WaterWalk Receives Accolades at 2010 Parade of Homes

(Wichita, KS.) The WaterWalk Place Residences are showcasing two model homes, 515 S. Main #208 and #507, during the 2010 Wichita Area Builders Association (WABA) Parade of Homes. Each of these units has received multiple awards at this year’s WABA event. 

“We were so proud to share these beautiful homes with the hundreds of people who visited during the first weekend of the Parade,” said Doug Rupe, WaterWalk Executive Vice-President. “We look forward to sharing WaterWalk and the unique design elements of these homes with hundreds more as this event continues.”

Both WaterWalk condos were selected "Pick of the Parade," the highest award given by the WABA judges.  They also won their category in each of the following divisions:  Effective Design, Kitchen Design, Master Suite/Bath Design, and Decorating/Merchandising/Color. Interior Trends completed the design and construction. "We appreciate the latitude and the platform that the WaterWalk team has provided to showcase our innovation," said Shelly Rogers of Interior Trends. "We have enjoyed being part of a strong team that is moving WaterWalk forward", she said. This is the second consecutive Parade of Homes involving the firm at WaterWalk.

Guests to #208 will be able to see a unique way to maximize space with Zoom Room – a retractable guest bed that fits into a bookcase, desk or cabinet. With a remote control, the bed climbs up to or down from a vertical position.  Vern Klassen of Interior Trends added, “This model demonstrates a unique solution to making the most of living space. In addition to the Zoom Room component, a creative, moveable wall was designed and installed, which allows for an open area to transform into extra, private guest space with just a few simple adjustments.”

While all the residences offer beautiful sunset views, #507 is a two-story loft with dramatic city views of downtown Wichita.

Weigand New Homes is marketing the homes which feature a variety of floor plans, each with their own private garage and parking areas.

“This is an exciting time at WaterWalk,” said Rupe. “We invite everyone to come see for themselves during the Parade of Homes and then return for one of our upcoming special events.” The Parade continues Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24 from noon to 6 p.m.
